How many people does it take to sell a house?

More details to this question:
Right now, the house has multiple owners. The children of the original owner, and some of the owners are trying to sell it while the others are against it. How would this normally be decided when taken to court?

Any co-owner can bring a proceeding in court asking for a partition, which means either dividing the property if it's capable of being divided (for example, farmland), or compelling a sale.
