QUESTION

I want to know more about the extent of conservatorship.

Asked on Oct 10th, 2019 on Guardianship and Conservatorship - California
More details to this question:
We are currently pursuing conservatorship for our adult autistic son (nonverbal) with his mother. This would be joint between her and his father (my husband). Our big concern is that she has stated that once he is 21 she can move him where ever she wants. Will a conservatorship prevent that, so that he can remain close to us as he is now? If not, what do we need to do? Thank you for your help!

Conservatorship is guardianship of the estate (finances).  Other than a person herself only a guardian of the person can determine residence.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
