Is a request still honored if the patient dies before HIPAA authorization for medical records can be completed?

More details to this question:
Patient signs HIPAA authorization to have records sent to a certain party. Patient dies before authorized request can be fulfilled. Is the request considered null because of the patient's death or is the request honored for being the patient's wishes while alive?

A HIPAA authorization remains valid until its expiration date or event, unless effectively revoked in writing by the individual before that date or event.
