QUESTION

Is it possible have 3 guardians/parents?

Asked on Jun 20th, 2020 on Guardianship and Conservatorship - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
I am divorced with 3 children, all have the same father. We have a mutual agreement of 50/50 “custody” of the two older children and the youngest i have about 75/25 at the moment. I am getting remarried and would like my new spouse to have some sort of guardianship to my children so she is also able to have a say in their life as well as sign for them or take them to medical appointments and such. Is there a way for her to be deemed a guardian along side myself and their father? Without taking any rights/responsibilities away from myself and their father.

This seems unlikely, though the three of you might enter into a co-parenting agreement.  In most states only parents are allowed to be co-guardians.  Check with a local guardianship attorney.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
