QUESTION

Is the new deed enough proof of distribution?

Asked on Dec 02nd, 2015 on Trusts and Estates - California
More details to this question:
Mom passed away 2 years ago and left the house to me and 2 brothers. My brothers are living in the house. I don't object to that. I do want to make sure I have documents for later reference. I was given a copy of the new grant deed to the house with our names on it. Is this enough proof that I own a portion or do I need a copy of the trust?

Yes, a recorded deed from the trust to you and your brothers is sufficient proof of your ownership interest in the property.
