QUESTION

Move Estate Planning from MA to FL

Asked on Jun 29th, 2020 on Estate Planning - Florida
More details to this question:
We are planning to sell our Massachusetts residence to our son & his wife and become FL residents in Homosassa, FL. We have estate planning documents and a Living Trust - will we have to ‘transfer’ or establish all of this in Florida? Also, we will have an estate tax exclusion on the sale of our home as we will be selling for about 2/3 the assessed value. How will this work if we change our residence to Florida?

You would have to talk to a Massachusetts attorney regarding the estate tax. There is no estate tax in Florida. I need to know more facts and would like to talk to you.  Please e-mail me at sgarciavidal@garciavidallaw.com and send me your phone number.  Thanks.
