My daughter is receiving SSI Benefits. Her father died 3 years ago. I have opened succession, but was told it would not be completed for 5 years after I filed which was a year ago. I was told she would lose her SSI if I died before the 5 years had passed for I have usfruct of all property and in my will my portion of the estate I put in a special needs trust for her. But since she is a forced heir in Louisiana I could not put her share from her father. Is there anything I can do or have her do to protect her SSI Benefits from stopping should I die before the 5 years have passed?
