QUESTION

property settlement issue

Asked on Dec 26th, 2014 on Estate Litigation - California
More details to this question:
I own property with my sister and brother that was left to me Oct 2011 by our mother. I want my 3rd share of it. How can I get them to sell it or if they keep it to give me my share? They are not interested in doing anything and are letting squatters live there now. Is there any legal action that I can take?

You may have to file a petition with the court compelling a partition of the property so that it can be sold or distributed as tenants in common.

You probably need to file a partition action. I would contact a real estate litigation attorney in the area where the property is.
