QUESTION

What happens if I do not sign the Guardianship & Conservatorship documents?

Asked on Mar 02nd, 2020 on Guardianship and Conservatorship - Michigan
More details to this question:
I received Guardianship & Conservatorship and a waiver & consent documents to sign for my Mother. A family member started this process without any explanation. The family member already has Power of Attorney so I do not understand why the Guardianship & Conservatorship is needed. The Court Ad Litem has not contacted me and it has been over 2 weeks since I received the forms.

If you do not sign, you will receive notice of the hearing. You might want to contact the applicant and/or look at the court record for more information on why an application was filed.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
