QUESTION

What to do when an attorney is not helping you

Asked on Apr 14th, 2021 on Estate Planning - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
My aunt is the beneficiary of my grandmothers estate(my gram passed 13 years ago). My aunt, although dreading it, still scheduled an appt with estate attorney, over a week ago, for today. My aunt came home this morning crying. Saying that all he did was yell at her, insisted on scheduling another appointment on the day my grandmother passed (July) and had her out in less than 10 minutes. Please help me, help her. I'm at a loss of what to do.

The attorney does not represent your aunt, the beneficiary.  The attorney represents the executor or administrator of your grandmother's estate.  If your aunt wants someone to protect her interests, she should hire her own attorney.  The estate should have been settled years ago.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
