QUESTION

Who sets the deadline date for discovery?

Asked on Jun 13th, 2019 on Trusts and Estates - New York
More details to this question:
I am the fiduciary of an estate. I am being sued. My attorney says that I need to produce a number of documents which I have done. Of course, her review generates bills. She claims that the discover was due in MAY. The court date is set for September. If the matter is solved and moot if I sell the property between now and then why was discovery due in MAY and who (did the judge) decided that?
