Can a lawyer quit from doing a will at the end

More details to this question:
My dad died last September my sister hired a lawyer it's been about eight months and we supposed to get the money here in a week or so and all of a sudden she said the lawyer quit I don't know if it's a lie or what's going on all I know is something is not right what do I do I'm not the executor

There are various reasons for which a court will allow a lawyer to withdraw.  Often the court requires the executor to find a new lawyer within a specified period of time.  You may want to review the court file.
