QUESTION

Can I get free help just with filling out Probate paperwork?

Asked on Mar 01st, 2016 on Wills and Probate - Michigan
More details to this question:
My mother passed away in July, she left behind a house that is three years behind on property taxes and about to go into foreclosure. I need to file probate paperwork and take to the treasury office and they will stop the process until after probate and we sell the house and they get their money. It is only my little sister and I and we are really lost on how to fill out the paperwork and cannot afford an attorney at this time. We only have until March 31st to save the house or my 5 year old son and I will be on the streets. Please if there is anyone who can help me or walk me through how to fill out the papers so we can get them filed ASAP.

I think you need an attorney and you are probably over-estimating the cost. Call and talk to a few local lawyers, lay out the situation, and see what they say. It seems you really need help, and could screw it up if you try it on your own. Good Luck.
