I live in Arizona and I was staying with a woman whom died 5months ago with no living relative's and she was legally separated from her husband. Also I am not quite sure if it matters but she inherited this house herself and it still requires payments that I found out I can pay online. I have already lived here for a total of 10 months and have received mail here the entire time. If I catch up on the payments that I can make online, can I continue to live here and file for squatters rights. Also as of right now the house is still in the dead woman's name,
Most likely the woman has a "laughing heir" somewhere and her estate needs to be probated. Rather than lose money by putting it toward the mortgage on a home someone else will inherit, consult a local probate attorney.
