Cashing check made out to a estate

More details to this question:
I obtained a $2000 check from my deceased father's ex-employer for $2000. It is not made out to me, but to "the estate of" my father. he has no will and i am the only living heir. How do I cash.deposit this check?

You must open a bank account for the estate.  To do this you must become the administrator of the estate.  Hire a local probate lawyer.
