My step-mother of 40 years remarried after my father died. She delayed getting married in order to continue to receive my fathers death benefits. She had always told my brothers and I that our father had left some money in a trust that she controlled. Fast forward, my mother passed in 2009. Her husband told us that there was no will. My brother didn't let it go and after some heated words with my mothers husband, in 2013, hired a lawyer who sent a letter of request dated and signed for by the husband. We never heard back. Recently the lawyer again made the request. This time we received a copy of the so called filed will dated 10 days after the letter was sent in 2013. On this particular copy of the will under "Declaration" it states FAMILY/ "I am a married woman, I have no children". This is crap. I think this was fabricated to cover up the original will that would have had both of my brothers and my name.
