Cynthia Rose Follis (from NV) wrote up a will and now I need to make an amendment. She is nowhere to be found. The address and phone number on the internet are outdated. Did she pass away? What do I do ? Thank you.
If you live in New York, and your property is located in New York, and you need to change something about your will, it is probably a good idea to make a new one. "Amending" (creating a codicil) a will may be only slightly less complicated and costly then re-doing the will, depending upon the lawyer you use. When you make a new will, the old one is automatically revoked by the language in your new will. If you truly want to amend your old will, find a new lawyer. Any good lawyer can help you- it doesn't have to be the original lawyer.
