How do I go about claiming my grandfather assets?

More details to this question:
My grandfather didn’t leave a will. What happens to all his assets and things he owns? He only had one son which was my dad but my dad passed long ago what happens to everything he owned and how do I go about receiving those things. Or do they go to someone else ?

Contact a local probate lawyer to find whether the property can pass via an Affidavit of Heirship, an Affidavit of Small Estate or an Application for Determination of Heirship.
