QUESTION

How do I sue the trustee for a copy of the trust documents?

Asked on Sep 18th, 2019 on Wills and Probate - California
More details to this question:
I wrote a letter requesting a copy of the trust (almost 60 days ago) but I have not received it yet. And I don’t expect him to give it to me willingly. I was told I need to sue him for a copy (if he doesn’t provide it within 60 days of my request) but I don’t know how to do that. I need help and no one seems willing to help me until I have a copy of the trust!

Can you prove that you are a current beneficiary of the trust?  You are only entitled to information (not necessarily a copy of the trust agreement) and an accounting if you are.

This is general information. It cannot substitute for a personal consultation with an attorney. It is not intended to be legal advice or imply an attorney-client relationship.
