How soon should probate be filed?

More details to this question:
My daughter died 12/08/21 without a will. She owned a house with her boyfriend. I am her beneficiary. I contacted an attorney several weeks ago, and have spoken to him at least four times. Each time he says he will send out his contracts but doesn’t. Should I look for another attorney?
