How to close a checking account

More details to this question:
My husband did not close out his mother’s Wells Fargo checking acct after her death. Now he has passed and I want to close this acct in Douglas county omaha. The bank says I need a court order. The Douglas county court says i need a Ne attorney. They do not own the money. It is only 106.00. What would an attorney cost.? How do I go about finding one.

Hiring an attorney and paying court filing fees would cost more than $106.  Let the money go to the Nebraska State Comptroller.  If you want, after a few years (it varies from state to state), you can apply to claim your husband's share (some would go to any siblings).
