If the person who executed the will is still alive, he or she needs to have the will updated. If that person has already passed, the other living executor can act to dispose of the assets and liabilities of the deceased person's estate. Generally when more than one executor is placed on a will, it is assumed that if one of them is not available, the other person will be able to act as the executor.
