Inheritance:

Asked on Oct 14th, 2017 on Wills and Probate - Connecticut
More details to this question:
I own a home in Ct. I am making out my will. I want it divided 50, 50 between my daughter and my granddaughter so they both will own the home. My daughter got married in 2015. My granddaughter is single. The question is: God forbid, if my daughter passes away, will her husband be entitled to any parts of that home or will it all remain to my granddaughter. They were married in New York.

It depends on how they are left title. If they are left the title in survivorship, then title passes to whichever of them surives the other.  Ulitimately this would mean that if both your heirs were to perish, it is possible that the husband would inherit. There are a lot of other elements at work here that could influence the outcome.  Please feel free to contact me for more information.
