NY state death- letter of administration

More details to this question:
Father died this week. I am sole heir. He had no signed will. Property- a co-op/ condo. Do I need to hire a lawyer or can I file paperwork myself?

You should be able to file for Letter of administration yourself if no one will object to you being appointed as the Administrator.
