My father's settlement has been settled and I am excutitor of will. He did not mention settlement in will. Do I distribute money to siblings or only what he said they should receive in will from other accounts. He did not want some to get a dime of money.
A Will normally deals with any assets that a deceased person owns, not just some of them. So, generally, whatever funds your father had from his settlement would be distributed in accordance with the Will along with any other assets he owned. However, depending on how the Will was written that might not be the case. The only way for you to be sure what to do is to have the Will reviewed by your probate attorney (if you don't have a probate attorney helping you already, get one now).
I do not know what you mean by "Your father's settlement." The type of settlement will dictate how to answer your question. If it is a wrongful death settlement, all heirs share equally. If it is some other kind of settlement, it should be divided in accordance with the will. You should have a lawyer review the settlement and the will for complete advice.
