Sole Beneficiary Questions

More details to this question:
Hello there, I don't know what category this would fall under so I picked the best choice. My father is currently deceased. He listed my sister and I as his sole beneficiary, when I was 13 I found out my father was not my biological father. My sister filled out an affidavit for whatever reason. And I was informed that since I am not my father biological father my half of his life insurance goes to his 3 sons. My father passed suddenly so there was no Will. Legally is this true? I asked my sister how did they know about him not being my father, she blunt said "I told them." I you guys would please clear this up for me.

In response to the life insurance, if your father listed you as beneficiary on his life insurance policy, you should are entitled to the share. It does not matter that you are not his biological child. The insurance policy should not have to go through probate since your father named beneficiaries.
