An executor is a person selected to administer an estate. An executor is selected by the person creating the will also known as the testator. The testator can select anyone over the age of 18 to be the executor. An executor can also be a beneficiary. As a matter of fact, the executor is usually a beneficiary as the testator usually selects a family member as executor and most of the time, the teststor leaves his assets to family members .
