Who’s Responsible?

More details to this question:
My mom unexpectedly passed away. Opening her mail we discovered she is behind on car payments and is overdue on utilities, cell phone, numerous credit card debt and has several bank accounts with little to no money. What are my responsibilities? What if it’s all ignored? I called the car company to let them know to repossess since no one wants it, the car does not start. It’s sitting in the landlords apartment complex. She does not own any real estate and we have already cleaned her apartment and returned the keys. Do we need an attorney? She does not have a will. She has a life insurance policy and we My mom unexpectedly passed away. What are my responsibilities? What if it’s all know if she named a beneficiary. None of my sibling really care about the money because this whole situation is overwhelming.

Your mother's debt is her debt and the debt of her estate.  It is not your debt.  While it must be paid before anything is distributed to you and your siblings, you do not need to pay it.  If the debt seems likely to be greater than the assets, let some creditor pay to probate her estate.
