QUESTION

Will Medical go after my equity?

Asked on Oct 21st, 2015 on Wills and Probate - California
More details to this question:
I'm 59 year old on state disability and receiving MediCal and not sure if I can go back to work. Will MediCal go after my equity for any and all expenses of my medical care at any given time? And do I need to have an Irrevocable Trust against MediCal! If so, how can I go about it? I've been told I have to do it before I turn 60 years old.

When you die, it is possible for Medi-Cal to seek recovery from your estate.  Your estate for this purpose is very broad and can include assets in a living trust (which is different from your estate for probate purposes).  You should contact an attorney for Medi-Cal planning.
