QUESTION

will of my deceased mother

Asked on Jun 25th, 2013 on Wills and Probate - Florida
More details to this question:
My mother moved from florida to North Carolina and had a will drawn up in North Carolina, After 2 years she moved back to Florida where she recently died being a legal resident of the State of Florida (drivers licenses) at the time of her death, She retained her Florida ID for the entire time she resided in North Carolina. She however never had the will redone after she moved back to Florida to reflect Florida will laws. There are also words blacked in the will, that she did not black out. Also she never had her drivers licenses changed from florida when she rented and resided in North Carolina. Does the black out of words after the will was filed make it legal and what is the time frame for contesting the will.

FLA probably has jurisdiction. you need to ask a FLA attorney regarding the marking on the will. those issues can get tricky and could result in a hearing as to wether the markings invalidate the will.
