More details to this question:
I was injured on the job on Tue. I didnt report this injury then because I thought the pain would go away but it didnt. It just became more painful. Thur I told a supervisor that my wrist was hurting & I could no longer lift heavy items & needed to rest. I asked to see a doc on sat & was told that the papers would be prepared & i could pick it up sun & go to their doc. No form was filled out sat. Sun I asked another mang. who said he would take care of it & again he didnt. I was in so much pain mon I went to an urgent care. I took the paper work into my mag. who was not happy with the prescribed 1week off to rest. She then told me to go to their doc to get a real diagnosis. Because it was after hrs she had me go to their urgent care. they again recommended 1week off. She again called me the next day & said I saw the wrong doc & had to go back AGAIN! This doc treated me well and gave me a brace but could not put me off work! Why cant she write me off for a week?

Unfortunately, the doctors chosen by employers or insurance companies for initial treatment think that their first duty is to send injured workers back to work, instead of taking care of the worker. In this case, if the doctor didn't put any restrictions on your work, then you probably have to go back and at least try to work, unless you are going to hurt yourself further. Then go back to that doctor and again try to get taken off work. You also have the right to change doctors, usually to another doctor in the Medical Provider Network set up by your employer or the insurance company. You should also consult with an attorney. There is no charge for a consultation, but it may help your understanding and he or she may be interested in taking your case.
