I'm about to have a double knee replacement and can't really work can I get disability?

More details to this question:
I haven't worked really worked in almost a year, now I have to have a double knee replacement done and I'm not sure if I can't get some kind of disability or financial assistance, dou I qualify and do you think I can get disability?
