I am a dancer/stage performer. I have minor ligament inflammation, receiving 10 days off of work. The note from assigned Dr. permits me to walk around, get about, etc. It is only noted that I am unable to perform the show with the injury. I was instructed to go about normal life and may workout as long as I do not attempt to run, do squats or in other words aggravate injury. I am very respectful of my injury and have spent majority of my time in my room, taking elevators instead of stairs and following suggested healing regimen. So, I feel that I'm not breaking any rules if I should choose to enjoy a drink with my friend.
Of course you are entitled to sit upright and to imbibe beverages. You are not expected to lie in bed all day every day and do nothing. You do not have to be completely and totally disabled to be unable to work and receive workers compensation. You are still allowed to have a life. Is someone giving you a hard time about that?
