QUESTION

On Workers Comp leave but no contact from employer or workers comp company.

Asked on Jul 03rd, 2015 on Workers Compensation - Florida
More details to this question:
I have been on workers comp leave since June 11th of this year and I have had no contact from the workers comp company on anything. My company continues to give me the run around on who to contact and states that they would not be paying me, workers comp would. I have not yet received any form of compensation for being on leave, I have called four times and left messages but no one returns my calls. I was to start physical therapy this week however no information on where or when I would be going has been given to me. Once again when I attempt to call to obtain this information I get an answering machine and no call back. I don't know what to do.

It is unclear as to who you have called four times.  Do you know who your employer's workers' compensation insurance carrier is?  An attorney who specializes in workers' compensation can probably find out for you if you do not know.  If you have been off work for more than seven days as a result of your workers' compensation injuries, you should be receiving workers' compensation disability checks.  You do not get paid for the first seven days off unless your disability exceeds more than 21 days.  Once your disability exceeds 21 days, you get paid for the first seven days.
