QUESTION

Should I get a workers comp lawyer before accepting an impairment judgement?

Asked on Jan 22nd, 2013 on Workers Compensation - Texas
More details to this question:
I injured my knee at work and was sent for therapy before having an MRI done. While doing therapy in the doctors office I fell and broke my wrist requiring a plate and screws. After my wrist surgery I was sent for an MRI on my knee and had to have surgery for a torn meniscus. This required more time than was allowed at my job so they "let me go". I was cleared for my knee with no impairment but am still not cleared for wrist. The doctor is now considering removing the hardware from my wrist because of pain and lack of function. I have been told repeatedly that I can't do anything about the fall during physical therapy but my question is...should I secure a lawyer for any impairment that may be offered for my wrist? I have to have full function in my hand due to the nature of my job.
