when injured at work to the point where you cannot do your job anymore?

Asked on Aug 25th, 2014 on Workers Compensation - Florida
More details to this question:
about a year and half ago I shattered my heel and smashed my ankle joint so bad it had to be fused back together. now i'm left with 12% permanent disability. with all of doctors restrictions and the very limited use in my ankle I physically cannot do the work. but the company I work for insists on keeping me in the field. if I cannot do the work I am afraid they will just let me go. what are my options legally?

Your claim is a worker's compensation claim. You get only medical care and lost wages in this system. If you are MMI, you only get medical care. What limitations did the doctor place on you? Can you do your job if you had accomodations? You need to seek legal advice with your medical records. I would seek that help sooner than later and certainly you need to act before you get fired.
