QUESTION

Sexting

Asked on Aug 26th, 2022 on Sexual Abuse - Utah
More details to this question:
I’m a teen in a intimate relationship with another teen, after a couple of months me and this other teen had exchanged explicit pictures during a intimate time, after we were done we deleted the pictures just so no one can see them. At the time I didn’t know I can get in trouble for this but after doing research I learned that I can, we are both 17, consented and are dating. Can I still get in trouble despite the pictures being delete and there being consent? And if yes, what’s the chances I do get in trouble?

First thing is you need to stop sexting. Even if you delete them off your phone they can still be recovered. At 17 neither of you can consent to sex and both of your are creating child pornography. You can be in serious trouble for that. If nobody has found out reported then you likley won't get in trouble, but stop doing it immediately.
