What should I do?

More details to this question:
My 17 year old son received a simple assault and disorderly conduct charge. He plead not guilty and has a pretrial date tomorrow. First, I need to know if throwing a plastic bottle out a window is assault. It didn't hurt anyone, and my son wasn't trying to hurt anyone. I am not condoning this behavior, and am sick about the whole situation, but feel the boy's (victim) father is making the situation into something it is not. He posted a photo of my son's friend's car and license plate.on FB, and made a video talking about how he had been the victim of racism as a child. It turns out that the plastic bottle that was thrown was an almost empty bottle of rubbing alcohol, and the father was making it out as though it was some sort of hate crime. That is where the disorderly conduct part of the case comes in. The father said that someone called his son the "n" word, which seems odd considering he is not African American, plus my son doesn't have a racist bone in his body. The majority of his
