More details to this question:
My husband and I are splitting we have two children, one whom will need full time daycare the other after school care. His ex refuses to go down to the child support office to rework the numbers. Which is hindering us figuring out what I’m supposed to get. There was an amount mentioned two years ago that she didn’t agree with and we were unable to go to the judge and have it changed. I’m due to leave next week and I need to know what I’m supposed to get so I can budget. None of the calculators are helping us.
Your question indicates you have attempted to use one of the calculators. To be sure you are using the correct calculator, make sure you are visiting the official State website: NC Child Support Guidelines. If you are having trouble determining how to use the calculator, you should contact the child support agency in your county or seek the advice of an attorney in your area. The child support agency handles hundreds or more cases, so it may be worth your while to at least consult an attorney even if you do not plan to hire one. Also keep in mind that a paying parent may be ordered to pay your attorney's fees if he or she does not pay the correct amount ultimately awarded by the court.
