An attorney can probably help you get a copy of your entire payment history but I'm not sure what you mean by "complete copy of your file". Who is maintaining this file that you're talking about. If you're talking about the court file you should be able to get a complete copy of the court file (you'll have to pay the copy costs to the clerk) but if you're talking about child support enforcement's internal file, you are not entitled to a copy of that. The short answer is of course you do.  There is nothing more important than your child and you want to make sure you aren't facing an uphill battle in court.  Hard to expect the attorneys on this site to say anything else.  If nothing else, you should at least consult with an attorney to get the basics, and then perhaps you and the mother of your child can work something out based on the guidance you've received.  Custody is going to be an issue until this child turns 18, so you are going to have to learn to work with each other a little bit.... In order to get a continuance, your best bet would be to (1) show up in court on your courtdate, or (2) file a motion formal written motion to continue with the court and serve a copy on the county attorney well in advance of your courtdate, or (3) hire an attorney to represent you on this case, and ask them to make a motion to continue for you.  The child support worker does not work for you, he/she works for the custodial parent,  and I would not rely on her to make a motion to continue on your behalf.  Good luck, and please move quickly.... I cannot understand what you are saying.  What does "sahm ." mean? And what is "1,000 travel soccer."?  I can say that if you have a child support agreement that says that you have to pay half of the expense, and you do not comply, then he can take you to court.  If there is no child support order at all, then either of you can file an action to have the court determine the appropriate amount of child support.  ... If you are saying that the separation agreement says he has to pay half of the room and board only if she attends a college far away, and she is not attending a college far away, then he has no responsibility to pay half of the room and board.  Is there anything else in the agreement that requires him to pay any other support for your adult child?  ... The answer to your question is no.  As long as you are a minor, your parents are obligated to support you.  The purpose of child support money is to assist the custodial parent in supporting you.  That means food, clothing, insurance, lights, rent, gas, etc.  You have a right to have your parents support, you have no right to have them give you money. ... That depends on whether you have a written agreement, or a court order for child support.  If so, the terms of that agreement control.  If there is no order saying he has to continue to support your adult children through college, then he does not have to do so. Unless your child support order says otherwise, the child support will end when your child turns 18 AND graduates from high school , not OR graduates from high school.  There are other situations in which the child support would end early, but you have not indicated that any of those are a factor here.  You should let the father know that if he stops paying child support before the child graduates from high school, you will have to file a motion for contempt this assumes that this child support is being paid pursuant to a court order.  If it is not, you should file a complaint to get an order as soon as possible.  ...
