QUESTION

Does non-compete still hold after the job got cancelled before start

Asked on May 29th, 2015 on Employment Contracts - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I was going to start a temp job at a bank via a job agent. All paper work and non-compete were signed with the agent and the bank job failed to start and got cancelled 2 days after the scheduled start date. Is the contract still valid? Does the non-compete still ban me from getting other temp jobs from the same bank via different agents?

No. The noncompete clause is not binding. In addition, the New Jersey courts do not favor noncompete agreements. Ed Dimon
