Email

Asked on Jan 21st, 2015 on Employment Contracts - New Jersey
More details to this question:
The owner of the company sent an email today "Please note I've added access to each of your email accounts to my Outlook in hopes of better understanding our day-to-day activities and to identify strengths and weaknesses. While I have no intent to go back through old emails at this time, please avoid any personal/private emails moving forward on the SES email server since I'm only interested in business related communications." While I understand that email is property of the company and I do not have personal emails at work, is this ethical/Lawful?

This is completely legal and this is the standard in major corporations. The email server and the email system belong to the employer. The access and information and data on the email server belong to the employer. Many Large companies monitor the activity on the email server to ensure there is no inappropriate conduct. This is legal.
