QUESTION

Employer appealing NJUnemployment

Asked on Apr 25th, 2013 on Employment Contracts - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I was terminated from my job on 2/15/13 for an alleged Code of Ethics violation. A document that was meant to be used for training purposes was submitted to a department accidentally. A disgruntled Associate forwarded the document to an overseeing Manager who in turn terminated me. At the time of termination I explained that it was done in error and that the Associate providing the information was on corrective action, most recently as the day prior. I applied for NJ Unemployment and the company did not respond to the the initial interview. Now 50 days later and thousands of dollars in unemployment pay, they are appealing it. I never signed anything, nor was provided with any documents at the time of termination. I was told it was due to company Code of Ethics violations. Should I seek legal representation for the appeal hearing and should I pursue the company for wrongful termination? I have no documents to present at the hearing as they were all kept on my work computer.
