security deposit

More details to this question:
I worked as independent beverage distributor for a large beverage co. they required a 5k deposit when I started. I owe them nothing. Now that I'm leaving, I am having trouble getting it back. What's my recourse?

i would make a written demand setting forth all the facts. if they do not respond or if they refuse to pay, send a second written demand. if no response, we can  make a demand. if no response, we can file a complaint and sue. the threat from an attorney should work. if not, we sue and get you your money. the suit would be the 'last resort' because the legal costs are significant. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600.
