Should I have been terminated? If not, what should I do next?

More details to this question:
I worked at a furniture store in MN as a sales associate. I went to talk to another associate about a customer issue and before I could say anything he said Stay away from my f...ing customers or a similar outburst. He then walked by me and shoved me out of the way. I took a step back and pushed his arms down to his side and whispered to stop because we were on the sales floor with customers near by. We were discharged 2 weeks after HR did the interviews. They interviewed one other sales associate who was close by when it happened and the manager and the 2 of us. I was trying to defuse the situation. I had worked there for over 3 years and never had any behavior problems. All of my reviews from day 1 were excellent in moral and getting along with co workers. This guy was there for 2-3 months and had e-mails sent to the manager from other associates, none from me, about his swearing at other associates and his outbursts.

In Minnesota you have no right to keep a job unless you have a contact (few people below management level do) or the firing is based on a forbidden reason, such as race, religion, sex, etc.
