Your mom should hire ANY attorney she likes!  I encourage you to look for one who is experienced with trusts and estates and preferably focuses their practice on trusts and estates. I have found some attorneys dabble in this area and think it's easy. It's NOT! The attorneys that dabble can lead one unknowingly into many different problems. In California, for example, we can be "certified" by the State Bar as "specialists in estate planning, trust and probate law."  We accomplish this by taking a second bar exam and passing a background check.
