I would suggest calling the courthouse where the citation was filed.  They may be able to provide some guidance since you already paid the fine.   The citation will usually provide guidance about appearing for the hearing or not depending on if you are contesting the ticket.  An Illinois attorney in that area would be a good person to contact.   Best of luck....
