Can I get my gun rights back? I was convicted in 2001 for importing marijuana from mexico. I served my sentence and completed supervised release.

Certain state laws do not allow an offense to be expunged if there was a mandatory prison term.  However, I cannot comment with any specificity on the law in Indiana as I am not licensed to practice there.  I strongly encourage you to consult with an attorney who is licensed to practice in that state.   Simon W. How would someone get back all civil rights such as, gun rights, after a felony conviction? It has been over 20 years since the conviction.

If you get the charge expunged, that may re-qualify to own a gun.  However, I cannot say for sure as far as those implications.  Depending on the degree of felony, it would be worth it to try to get that conviction expunged if possible.   Simon W.
