Hi Connie...The time limit is 2 years from the date that you know or should have known a) that you have been injured and b) that it may have been wrongfully caused, but in no event more than 4 years from the date of the negligent acts. There are exceptions, for children and people who are totally disabled cognitively. If you remained under the defendants' care continuously, then the 2 years begins to run at the time when you stopped seeing the defendant, although the 4 year period from the date of the negligent act still applies.
