Will my wife find out I was arrested for soliciting a prostitute?

Answered 13 years and a month ago by attorney William R. Pelger   |   2 Answers   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Defense
I don't think the court or police customarily notify spouses of arrest. I just think with the mail you will be receiving it will be tough to hide I, that is if the case goes to the court of common pleas level and your are eventually put on probation. Plus, a lot of times the cases are published in the local papers. Your best bet is to hire an attorney who can get this things resolved at the preliminary hearing level and put it to rest. In Allegheny county for first time offenders they offer "johnny classes" if you go to one of these and complete it the charge is withdrawn or reduced to a summary. That way the case ends at the DJ level and there is no probation.... Read More

Is the shoplifting charge on my adult record and will it be seen during a background check for a job?

Answered 13 years and 3 months ago by Mr. Michael Charles Sahn (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Defense
If you were 17 when arrested, then yes, it would be on your adult record. However, if it is your first and only offense, and 3 years has passed, you can have it expunged. I would consult an attorney to help with the process. Michael C.   Law libraries have annotated statute books. On the internet, there are a number of free search engines such as Google Scholar or Justia that may be helpful. Additionally, some state legislatures, such as Illinois, have searchable databases. Lori G. Levin Attorney at Law 180 N.
